Volleyball

All year Maddie had planned on trying out for the volleyball team. She went to the camp this summer and had been eagerly waiting tryouts. When the week of tryouts came Maddie informed us that about 40 to 50 girls were planning on trying out but only 12 would make the team.
At that moment I became nervous... As a parent you always hate to see your children's disappointments and heartaches, however they are a big part of life. So her dad and I decided two things... One that he would practice with her as much as possible to get her ready and more confident and Two start to mentally prepare her. We told her how proud we were that she was trying out and that it took a lot of courage. We also told her if she didn't make it we were equally as proud of her and that we would keep working and she could always try again next year.
On the final day of try outs he coach gave them each a sealed envelope with the news. They were instructed not to open them until off of school grounds... Of course as soon as the gym doors open there were girls ripping open their envelopes. One by one each girl looked disappointed or devastated. It was heartbreaking to watch.
When Maddie finally made it out she said she would wait... So we got into the car... She opened it... And silence. I was secretly preparing my speech while she was reading. Then their was the screams of joy!! She made the team and is so thrilled!!!! We are so proud of her interest and dedication. She has been practicing every weekend and loving being a part of a team. She had her first away game last week and loved riding up on the bus with her team an playing.
We are having so much fun watching the girls play too! Now if I could only figure out how to entertain a 3 year old and 1 year old on the bleachers for two hours! Ideas??

Lily One Year Old

Our little St. Patrick's Day Blessing turned a year old!  Yes. this post is very very late. In fact I am really behind in blogging period.
We had a St. Patrick's Day bash for our sweet little girl..photo bomb ahead. Grandma Lesley knit her a gorgeous green dress to help celebrate her first birthday! I love it so much... Thanks mom!!
Papa and Grammie came up from San Diego to help us celebrate and Grandma Judy came down from Canada.  The rest of the family showed up to help celebrate our third born too.  What a fun day!  We had lots of green food treats, Irish beer and whiskey drinks, and of course a roast with Irish potatoes!   The photo booth and props were a big hit, and I big shout out and thanks to my awesome and creative friend Amy for making the photo booth frame.  I promise I will edit the pics before adding them to her baby book, I'm just to tired to do it right now!  And I really have to catch up on this blogging!

My Three

My three girls.  My three loves.  My three crazies.  My three sweets.  My three that keep me on my toes. My three that teach me everyday.  My three that make me smile more than anything in the world.  My three that can also make me cry.  My three blessings from God.  I love them more each day and I learn more about each one of them everyday.

Zoo Day

Mama is off work so we decided to hit the zoo today! Erika came along with us and we had a blast. Best time to go to the zoo is when it first opens.... Beat the crowds and all the animals are out. Our favorites were the baby tigers and monkeys. Both little girls had so much fun!!

Tree Cutting 2012

We went to a new place for our tree this year... Won't do it again but it was still a fun time. We ended up with a huge tree!!! It took forever to find because Maddie is very particular about her Christmas tree! She loved the one we found and said it is the best tree we have ever had. Stacy and I say it's the biggest tree we've ever had... And found and decorated with lots of love. Who could ask for more?
